Java error code 1603

Description

When installing the new Java you get a window saying that there are some programs using the jp2launcher.exe even though there is nothing running or is a fresh install. After you click Close Programs, the installation fails with Error Code 1603

Resolution

1. Install the Java with the regular installation and let it fail.
2. Close the installation
3. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\version\bin
4. Run javacpl.exe
5. Go to the Security Tab
6. Uncheck the box Active Content of Java in Browser
7. Click Apply
8. Check the box Active Content of Java in Browser again
9. Click Apply
10. Open Internet Explorer and Enable the Java Pluggin.
11. Run the Java Version Check
